Mason Dunn

Mason began his career in home construction with McCar Homes as an associate builder in 2001 where he soon became the Director of Home Building Operations, responsible for McCar’s architecture, purchasing, estimating, and construction departments across the Southeast and oversaw the construction of over 5,000 homes in total. While at McCar, Mason developed skills in quality craftsmanship coupled with process-minded efficiency. As the recession and its effects on single-family housing cascaded in 2008, Mason leveraged his construction quality and process expertise to build a portfolio of in-town rental properties. Mason focused on a model of providing single-family homes in revitalizing neighborhoods that were (1) reasonably priced, and (2) high quality. Managing his in-town portfolio of 86 homes while also operating a construction and renovation company over the last 12 years, Mason saw an opportunity within the City of Atlanta to focus his attention a renovation and design-build company. In 2019, Mason founded Dunn Homes, now Cooperage Homes, with the philosophy that building a home was not about selling a home; it was about providing a product to a homeowner that would last their family for years to come. While each project is unique, there is no substitute for quality construction and quality components in a home.

A North Carolina native, Mason earned his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill and his Masters in Economics from NC State University. A Certified Professional Home Builder, Mason is deeply committed to the success of Cooperage Homes, and he is an active member of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association (GAHBA). Mason is focused on brand reputation and building trust within the community. Mason and his wife Pollyanna live in Atlanta are very active in their church, Northside United Methodist. The couple has two children.
